The full Blood of Dawnwalker game will be released on disc, Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves confirm

The Blood of Dawnwalker, an upcoming medieval vampire role-playing game from developer Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco, will be released on physical disc, the studio has confirmed. Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz revealed the news in a recent interview, stating simply: “Yes, it is coming to the disc.”

The announcement carries particular significance regarding game preservation and ownership. Many modern physical game releases function primarily as license verification codes—packages that require players to download the complete game from a digital storefront. Such discs offer minimal value if those digital storefronts eventually remove the game or shut down entirely. In contrast, The Blood of Dawnwalker’s disc release appears to contain the full game itself, making it playable independent of any digital service.

This approach reflects growing concerns within the gaming industry about the long-term accessibility of digital-only releases. By including the complete game on disc, Rebel Wolves ensures that physical buyers can continue playing regardless of future changes to digital distribution platforms. The move demonstrates developer commitment to game preservation and provides players with a more ownership-oriented purchase option, distinguishing it from increasingly common pass-code-only physical releases.
