Save-game carry-overs and time-leaping sequels: medieval vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker has some bold ideas for the future
Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco have confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker, an upcoming medieval vampire RPG, will support save-game carry-overs into future installments of the franchise—a feature similar to Mass Effect’s cross-game progression system.
Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz revealed the feature while discussing the Summer Game Fest ‘saga’ trailer, which showcases a post-credits scene set in the present day. The scene depicts a delivery person dropping off a box of blood sachets to an ailing vampire, creating an intriguing narrative bridge that hints at the franchise’s trajectory beyond the initial release.
This ambitious design choice signals that the Dawnwalker series is being conceived as a connected narrative where player decisions and character progression will have lasting consequences across multiple games, establishing a foundation for an evolving franchise.
