Tides Of Annihilation Loses Expedition 33 Voice Actor Jennifer English
Jennifer English, the acclaimed voice actor known for her roles as Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3 and the winner of a BAFTA award for best performer in a leading role in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has stepped down from her role as Gwendolyn, the protagonist in the upcoming game Tides of Annihilation. The developer Eclipse Glow Games announced the change, stating that English informed them in June of her decision to leave the role to prioritize her mental and physical health.
Despite stepping down from the voice acting position, English will continue to contribute to the project in an advisory capacity. She has also recommended a replacement voice actor to take over the role of Gwendolyn, though the developer has not yet publicly revealed the identity of her successor. Eclipse Glow Games expressed their understanding and respect for English’s decision, emphasizing their gratitude for her contributions.
Tides of Annihilation, revealed in 2025, is currently among the 50 most wishlisted games on Steam. The game is described as an Arthurian-themed action RPG set in modern-day London, where the protagonist must battle demi-gods of Avalon while summoning the spirits of the Knights of the Round Table. The game blends Arthurian legend with contemporary setting and souls-like gameplay mechanics inspired by titles like Elden Ring.
