Xbox Game Pass Is Removing A Lot More Games Very Soon
Xbox Game Pass is removing a significant number of titles in July 2026, with the subscription service losing a total of 19 games across two removal waves this month. The first wave removed 11 games on July 15, including PowerWash Simulator and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The second wave will see 8 more titles depart on July 31.
The July 31 removal includes several highly-rated and critically acclaimed games. Notable titles leaving the service include the indie platformer Celeste, the strategy RPG Crusader Kings 3, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, My Friendly Neighborhood, Back to the Dawn, Whiskerwood, and Sniper Elite: Resistance. Many of these games have been available on Game Pass for years, making their departures notable for long-time subscribers.
As a retention measure, Microsoft is offering Game Pass subscribers a 20% discount on the departing titles, allowing players to purchase them before the games leave the service.
These removals reflect Microsoft’s ongoing strategy of regularly cycling games in and out of Game Pass on a monthly basis, typically in two waves. July stands out as a particularly heavy month for removals.
