New Ghost Recon News Coming Next Month

Ubisoft announced that Ghost Recon franchise news will be revealed on August 6, 2026, marking the series’ 25th anniversary. The announcement came via the official Ghost Recon X social media account, which posted for the first time in five months, acknowledging that leaks had already surfaced some details about the incoming announcements.

The leaks have reportedly revealed that a definitive edition of Ghost Recon Wildlands (originally released in 2017) is in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. According to the leaked information, this updated version will feature 4K resolution at 60 frames per second performance mode, along with at least one new mission. The timing of this announcement follows Ubisoft’s recent statement that a new mainline Ghost Recon title is not expected in the near term.

The company’s decision to formally acknowledge the August announcement appears to be a response to the leaks circulating online, as Ubisoft stated “we know some of you saw some updates” before promising “more to say on the 6th of August.” This follows the publisher’s pattern of reacting to leaks by providing official confirmation and additional details.
