LoL Board Game Mechs vs Minions Returns With Cheaper Version
Riot Games and Incredible Dream Games Studio have announced the return of Mechs vs Minions, the League of Legends-themed board game, after being out of print for approximately five years. The original game launched in 2016 and became a beloved cooperative experience for two to four players who programmed Yordle-controlled mechs to defeat waves of minions while completing various missions.
The announcement includes two offerings: a new “Bandle City Edition” designed for broader accessibility and a limited reprint of the classic version. The Bandle City Edition prioritizes affordability and space efficiency with a significantly smaller box and lower price point compared to the original. A notable distinction is that the new edition will feature unpainted miniatures of playable Yordles—including Corki, Heimerdinger, and others—rather than the pre-painted pieces included in the original version, allowing players to customize their figures.
The reveals took place during Shut Up and Sit Down’s Board Game Direct showcase, highlighting renewed interest in bringing legacy board games back to market. This release represents an important expansion of the League of Legends brand into tabletop gaming, offering both nostalgic fans of the original a chance to revisit the game and newcomers a more accessible entry point into the Mechs vs Minions experience.
