Critical Role announces exciting new tabletop adventure
Critical Role has announced a new tabletop adventure titled Road to Nowhere for the Daggerheart system. The adventure was created by Jack Panic, an indie TTRPG designer and graphic artist from DNGN CLUB, who is known for crafting high-quality RPG supplements and indie content.
This release continues Critical Role’s expansion beyond their flagship Dungeons & Dragons actual-play campaigns. Founded by Matthew Mercer and co-founders, the studio has established itself as a major force in tabletop entertainment, producing multiple ongoing campaigns, miniseries, animated adaptations, and spinoff adventures across multiple game systems including D&D, Daggerheart, and Candela Obscura.
The company has previously released several tie-in books and adventure modules, demonstrating a commitment to extending their universes through published content. By partnering with talented indie designers like Panic, Critical Role combines established creative infrastructure with fresh independent perspectives, a strategy that supports the broader TTRPG community while maintaining quality across their product lines.
Road to Nowhere represents another step in Critical Role’s diversification strategy, moving from their acclaimed actual-play shows into published adventures that allow other players to experience new narratives within their worlds. This collaboration exemplifies how established media companies in the TTRPG space increasingly work with indie creators to develop compelling content.
