Out today, Die or Dive is a promising roguelite scuba sim that basically turns Darkest Dungeon into Ecco the Dolphin
Die or Dive, a new 2D roguelite scuba simulator from Drop Rate Studio, released today through publisher Dear Villagers. The game combines the strategic dungeon-crawling mechanics of Darkest Dungeon with underwater exploration reminiscent of Ecco the Dolphin.
Set in a world devastated by five years of catastrophic “black rain” that induces mutations and nightmares, humanity has been forced to retreat to mountaintops that have become islands following what appears to be rising sea levels. With limited resources available on these isolated peaks, players must venture into the depths below. The game’s premise directly draws from the Darkest Dungeon template of roguelite gameplay applied to an aquatic adventure setting, blending resource management and turn-based strategy with oceanic exploration.
