GTA 6’s Jason may be the series’ best character yet, if his clothes are anything to go by
Rockstar Games showcased character clothing options for Grand Theft Auto 6 when opening pre-orders for the game, drawing particular attention to the fashion choices of both main playable characters, Lucia and Jason Duval.
Lucia’s wardrobe represents a deliberate shift in the series’ approach to female character design, balancing flashy and casual styles while avoiding the misogynistic tropes that characterized GTA’s portrayal of female characters in previous entries.
More notably, Jason Duval’s clothing options stand out as uncommonly well-designed for a male protagonist in the GTA franchise. Historically, male character fashion in Grand Theft Auto has been neglected or poorly executed. GTA 3, the series’ first game, confined players to a single outfit combining a puffer jacket and cargo pants. Vice City offered more variety but featured generally uninspired choices, such as Tommy’s default floral print shirt.
The emphasis on quality character fashion in GTA 6 signals Rockstar’s broader effort to improve character design and player customization, reflecting an evolution in how the franchise approaches character aesthetics and presentation.
