Cult horror movie Jennifer’s Body is coming back, here’s what it should (and shouldn’t) do
Jennifer’s Body, the horror-comedy that debuted 17 years ago from director Karyn Kusama and writer Diablo Cody, is getting a sequel. Originally a box-office disappointment upon release, the film has since developed cult-classic status and built a devoted fanbase, particularly among queer horror audiences.
Production Weekly has reported that Jennifer’s Body 2 is now in active development, with filming scheduled to begin in Vancouver in October 2026. The original film followed cheerleader Jennifer Check (played by Megan Fox) as she becomes an undead demon, blending horror and dark comedy.
