MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM review
The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM is a high-powered gaming handheld featuring AMD’s Z2 Extreme APU that delivers superior gaming performance compared to competitors like the ROG Ally X. According to PC Gamer’s review, it ranks among the best gaming handhelds available across nearly all key performance metrics, with particularly impressive battery life.
However, the device faces a significant market barrier: its launch price of approximately $2,000 makes it prohibitively expensive for most consumers, positioning it as a luxury product accessible primarily to wealthy users. The reviewer compares its market predicament to that of the Steam Machine, describing the Claw 8 as a casualty of the ongoing memory and hardware crisis. This component shortage continues to drive up costs in the gaming hardware industry, limiting the handheld’s appeal beyond early adopters with substantial budgets.
