Path of Exile 2 players broke the game by summoning 2,000 skeletons and then lured unsuspecting players into the ultimate frame rate shredder
Path of Exile 2 players have discovered an extreme way to stress-test the action RPG’s engine by summoning 2,000 skeletons in a single minion build. Streamer Empyriangaming invested an enormous amount of in-game currency to create one of the most expensive minion configurations ever attempted, requiring six complete sets of optimized gear to achieve this unprecedented skeleton army.
The massive concentration of minions created such severe performance issues that the build essentially destroyed frame rates for anyone nearby. This type of elaborate endgame experiment is common in Path of Exile 2 among players who have exhausted seasonal content and seek creative ways to spend accumulated wealth before progression resets.
The build was reportedly used against other players, who found themselves pulled into the area and subjected to the same crippling frame rate drops. This creates an interesting dynamic around environmental abuse mechanics in shared multiplayer spaces—while the build itself uses legitimate game systems, its weaponization for griefing raises questions about player protection in endgame areas.
The incident demonstrates the sophisticated min-maxing culture within PoE 2’s player community while highlighting technical challenges the game faces when systems are pushed to extreme scales.
