Someone has already got a regular Nvidia graphics card working on Windows on Arm thanks to RTX Spark drivers, though gaming performance doesn’t yet look ideal

A developer has successfully enabled Nvidia graphics card support on Windows on Arm for the first time by using an adapted driver. The developer, known as VoidTech, managed to get an Nvidia RTX 4060 working on Windows on Arm through a modified driver based on Nvidia’s RTX Spark laptop driver (version 590). This represents a significant expansion for Windows on Arm, which has traditionally been limited to Snapdragon processors with Adreno GPUs, and occasionally repurposed Mac silicon.

The breakthrough comes months after Nvidia announced RTX Spark, an Arm-based processor featuring dedicated GPU capabilities. Driver 590, which VoidTech used for this implementation, is an older version compared to Nvidia’s current driver version 610.74, and reportedly lacks native support for the DGX Spark processors that form the basis of RTX Spark technology.

However, while the technical achievement is noteworthy, gaming performance on this configuration does not yet meet practical standards. The success demonstrates the potential for Nvidia GPU support on Windows on Arm systems, but significant optimization work remains before such setups become viable for gaming and other graphics-intensive applications.
