With Pokémon in Fortnite Seemingly Off the Table, Palworld Looks Likely to Crossover Instead

Palworld appears poised for a crossover collaboration with Fortnite, while Pokémon continues to remain unavailable for the popular battle royale title. The development follows a public initiative by Pocketpair, the developer behind the hit survival game Palworld, to spark interest from Epic Games in a potential partnership.

In January, John “Bucky” Buckley, Pocketpair’s head of publishing and communications, took to social media to pitch the collaboration directly to Epic Games. “If you ever want to put Palworld in Fortnite just reach out hehe 😇,” Buckley wrote in his post, making a clear public overture toward the gaming giant.

This week, reports emerged that Epic Games may have reciprocated interest, as the company was spotted taking steps that suggest movement toward the crossover. While specific details remain limited, the development marks a significant potential expansion for Palworld, which has already become a major success on Steam since its early access launch.

The possibility of a Palworld crossover stands in contrast to the long-held absence of Pokémon content from Fortnite. Despite Pokémon’s massive cultural presence and apparent fit for Fortnite’s diverse range of crossover collaborations, the creature-collecting franchise has remained conspicuously absent from the battle royale, making the potential Palworld partnership all the more noteworthy.

For Palworld, a Fortnite crossover would represent substantial exposure to Fortnite’s massive player base, while for Epic Games, it offers a way to integrate one of gaming’s recent breakout successes into its platform. The collaboration, if finalized, would further cement Fortnite’s status as a central hub for video game crossovers and cultural moments.
