Grabbz Explains Why Fnatic Signed Soboro for the LEC Summer Split
Fnatic has announced the signing of Soboro (Lim Seong-min), a Korean professional toplaner formerly with Invictus Gaming in the LPL, for the LEC Summer Split. The player joins after being benched by Invictus Gaming following top laner Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok’s announcement of his return to competitive play.
Fnatic’s coaching staff, led by Fabian ‘GrabbZ’ Lohmann, explained the roster decision in an official video released by the organization. The coaching team revealed that Fnatic conducted extensive scouting across multiple regions including Europe, North America, Korea, China, and Vietnam before ultimately selecting Soboro as their top lane reinforcement.
The signing represents a significant roster change for Fnatic, as rookie toplaner Panagiotis ‘Empyros’ Tantis was dropped from the team. According to GrabbZ, Empyros demonstrated the least development among the organization’s toplaner candidates and had the largest performance gap relative to Fnatic’s competitive aspirations for the LEC.
