Lick your way to victory with the Mouth Pad, a Bluetooth device that lets you control your PC with just your tongue

Augmental, a company specializing in “Skinware”—body-coupled interfaces for computer control—has unveiled the Mouth Pad, a Bluetooth-enabled device designed to make PC gaming more accessible for people with limited mobility. The custom-fit mouthpiece allows users to control computers, tablets, and smartphones using their tongue, eliminating the need for traditional input devices like keyboards and mice.

The device addresses a significant gap in gaming inclusivity, as standard peripherals and high costs often exclude players with disabilities or mobility constraints. According to reports, an early prototype resembled “a lollipop with a bunch of sensors,” showcasing the innovative approach to assistive technology development.

The Mouth Pad represents part of a growing trend in the gaming industry toward expanding accessibility options. As PC gaming continues to demand specialized equipment, assistive devices like this aim to level the playing field and ensure that more people can enjoy gaming regardless of their physical limitations.
