Marvel Tōkon devs vow to fix performance issues for launch day next week: ‘To our PC players, message received’

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Sony’s superhero tag-fighting game, held a beta test over the past weekend that attracted significant attention on PC, with 33,233 concurrent players on Steam—surpassing Street Fighter 6’s 2023 beta peak. The test marked the first opportunity for PC players to experience the title, while PlayStation 5 players participated in their second beta session.

Despite strong player interest, the beta exposed significant performance challenges for the PC version. Players reported widespread stuttering, low frame rates, and various technical issues that raised concerns given the game’s launch date of Thursday, August 6—just eight days away.

Acknowledging the feedback, developer Arc System Works released a statement addressing PC players’ concerns, with a message indicating “message received” to the community. The studio emphasized that the beta testing process was valuable for identifying these issues, noting “This is exactly why we run these,” signaling their commitment to resolving performance problems before the official launch.

The timing presents a tight window for the developers to implement fixes, though the developer’s acknowledgment suggests they are aware of the priority and actively working to address the technical issues that impacted the beta experience.
