Capcom says likelihood of a Pragmata sequel is high, citing strong sales and ‘appeal’ of its main character, Diana

Pragmata, Capcom’s new sci-fi adventure featuring an android girl sidekick named Diana, has proven to be a massive commercial success. The title, which launched in April 2026, sold over one million copies within its first two days and has now surpassed 2.5 million units sold worldwide in just three months.

The strong sales performance has convinced Capcom to seriously consider a sequel. During a discussion of the company’s Q1 2026 financial results, Capcom corporate officer Yoshikazu Shimauchi stated that the likelihood of a Pragmata follow-up is high. The critical and commercial success of this new intellectual property has positioned it as a potential “pillar franchise” for the publisher.

This strong performance contributed to Capcom’s impressive financial quarter. Pragmata’s success joined that of Resident Evil Requiem, which achieved 8 million sales, in driving the company’s stock price up roughly 19% following the earnings announcement. The company reported that 93% of digital sales were recorded through 2026, underscoring strong market demand for Capcom’s latest releases and supporting the company’s confidence in green-lighting a sequel to its breakout new franchise.
