Shrek Comes To Ubisoft’s Popular Fighting Game
Shrek and several characters from the beloved animated franchise are joining Brawlhalla, Ubisoft’s free-to-play fighting game. The crossover event, running through August 19, marks part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the original 2001 Shrek film, which made history as the first animated feature to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The event brings four iconic characters to the game: Shrek himself, Fiona, Puss in Boots, and Donkey (available as a companion). Each character features a unique fighting style tailored to their personality and skills from the films. Shrek utilizes his signature “Beware of Ogre” sign as a weapon, while Fiona relies on hand-to-hand combat with her fists and feet. Puss in Boots brings his swordplay to the arena, wielding both sword and lance, while Donkey serves as an interactive companion that reacts to battlefield events.
The crossover continues a trend of Shrek making appearances across various gaming franchises this year as part of the anniversary celebration. Brawlhalla’s rotating roster of licensed character collaborations adds another major property to its growing collection of crossovers.
