BeamNG.drive, Steam’s finest car pancake maker, gets its biggest update yet with overhauled graphics, fresh rally stages and a sporty new coupe
BeamNG.drive, a physics-focused vehicular destruction sandbox game on Steam, has received its most substantial update since its initial release. Version 0.39 introduces a comprehensive graphical overhaul designed to enhance visual fidelity and performance. The update addresses long-standing rendering issues, including improved shadow mapping that prevents shadows from unnaturally separating from objects, reduced sunlight flickering for more stable outdoor lighting, and new HDR output support through Vulkan.
In addition to graphics improvements, the update expands gameplay content with new rally stages, offering players additional challenges and environments for testing vehicles. The update also introduces a new sporty coupe vehicle to the game’s roster, providing players with fresh options for experiencing the game’s detailed physics simulation.
BeamNG.drive has long been praised for its moddable sandbox environment where players can experiment with vehicular destruction physics, witnessing realistic deformation, crushing, and collision effects. The development team continues to refine the experience through regular updates, with this latest version representing the most significant overhaul to date.
