Helldivers 2’s Long-Awaited Warhammer 40K Warbond Brings Grimdark New Weapons, Though Not The Most Iconic

Helldivers 2 is set to receive a highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000 crossover on August 12, marking a significant collaboration between Arrowhead Studios and Games Workshop. The event, dubbed “Castellan’s Creed,” introduces an entire Legendary Warbond featuring content inspired by the Astra Militarum faction, specifically the elite Cadian Kasrkin regiment.

While some players had anticipated iconic Space Marines in the crossover, the update instead focuses on the Imperial Guard-inspired soldiers. The Warbond includes two armor sets themed after Astra Militarum troops, featuring designs labeled “TG-8 Sharpshooter” and “T-122 Demo-Trooper.”

Weaponry from the grimdark Warhammer 40K universe rounds out the package, including some of the franchise’s most recognizable arms: the Meltagun, Bolt Pistol, Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, and Meltamines. Each weapon maintains its thematic identity while being integrated into Helldivers 2’s gameplay mechanics.

This crossover follows Helldivers 2’s successful previous collaborations with franchises like Halo and Killzone, establishing the multiplayer shooter as a prime destination for licensed content. The announcement comes after an initial tease during Warhammer Skulls 2026, the 10th anniversary showcase for the tabletop gaming franchise. Arrowhead Studios described the warbond as a historic crossover, challenging players to defend Super Earth using the weapons and equipment of the Astra Militarum.
