KT Rolster and KRX announce Aiming and Jiwoo Swap Deal
KT Rolster and Kiwoom DRX have announced a player swap involving League of Legends professionals Kim ‘Aiming’ Ha-ram and Jung ‘Jiwoo’ Ji-woo. Under the deal, Aiming joins DRX while Jiwoo transfers to KT Rolster.
The swap follows Aiming’s unexpected removal from KT’s active roster due to reported internal conflicts with the organization. The sudden nature of the change forced KT to field substitute bot laner Park ‘FenRir’ Kang-jun in a recent LCK matchup against T1. KT Head Coach Go ‘Score’ Dong-bin acknowledged the abrupt circumstances of the move, noting that the team hadn’t adequately prepared due to the swift roster adjustment.
The transaction reflects escalating tensions within KT Rolster regarding Aiming’s position on the team. Rather than benching the player long-term, both organizations pursued this swap arrangement as a mutual solution. The deal allows KT to restructure their roster while providing Aiming a fresh start in a new competitive environment within the LCK, South Korea’s professional League of Legends league.
Mid-season roster swaps are not uncommon in esports, though the speed and public nature of this transaction highlight the severity of internal conflict at KT Rolster. The performance of both players in their new organizations could significantly impact the competitive landscape of the LCK for the remainder of the season.
