Lumines Remastered officially gets a surprise release on iOS and Android

Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s cult classic rhythm puzzle series Lumines has returned to mobile devices for the first time in a decade with the official release of Lumines Remastered on iOS and Android. The game is a 2018 remaster of Lumines: Puzzle Fusion, the original 2004 PSP launch title that pioneered the genre of music-driven puzzle gameplay.

Lumines Remastered combines traditional puzzle mechanics with rhythmic gameplay, requiring players to match 2x2 color squares in a vertical well synchronized to the game’s musical soundtrack. The mobile release is available as a free-to-play download with the full version unlockable for $7.99. This marks a significant milestone for the series, as it represents the first time the original PSP game has been made available on iOS and Android platforms.

The mobile adaptation was developed primarily by Spilled!, bringing the beloved classic to contemporary smartphone audiences. This release follows a decade-long absence from mobile platforms since 2016’s Lumines: Puzzle & Music, making it a notable return for the franchise on handheld devices.
