Path of Exile 2 finally has a fix for two of its longest-lasting, and most frustrating, technical problems

Path of Exile 2 has finally received fixes for two of its most persistent technical issues that have plagued players for months. Developer Grinding Gear Games announced that the new Nvidia Game Ready driver version 680.88, combined with the latest Path of Exile 2 patch, will significantly resolve problems with both shaders and device removed errors.

Device removed issues have been particularly frustrating for players, causing graphics driver crashes that result in temporary game freezes, black screens, and other disruptions to gameplay. These problems have been a thorn in the side of the community for an extended period, impacting the overall player experience.

Director Jonathan Rogers of Grinding Gear Games celebrated the milestone by opening a bottle of champagne in a video released by the studio, underscoring the significance of finally addressing these long-standing concerns. The fix demonstrates collaborative effort between the game developer and hardware manufacturers to improve performance stability.

The update addresses two critical technical areas: shader optimization and device removal stability. This should dramatically improve performance and reliability for players using compatible Nvidia graphics cards, representing a major quality-of-life improvement for the Path of Exile 2 community.
