Stupid Never Dies Set to Release in October

Stupid Never Dies, an upcoming action RPG developed by GPTRACK50 Inc., is set to launch on October 21 for PlayStation 5 and PC at $49.99. The game is being published by SEGA.

The title is led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, a veteran game developer who previously worked at Capcom on acclaimed titles including Killer7, Dragon’s Dogma, and entries in the Devil May Cry series. Drawing from his background in action-focused game design, Kobayashi brings a distinct creative vision to this new project.

The game follows Davy, a notably weak zombie protagonist who must journey through dungeons to confront the King of Monsters. The narrative involves the zombie attempting to revive his non-zombie girlfriend, who died from freezing. The premise and presentation suggest a darkly comedic, eccentric experience that prioritizes personality and unconventional gameplay over traditional action-RPG conventions.

Stupid Never Dies has been characterized as “madcap nonsense” with a retro aesthetic reminiscent of games from approximately two decades ago. Its absurdist premise, combined with an experienced director and SEGA’s publishing backing, indicates the publisher recognizes potential in this unconventional action title. A promotional trailer has been released ahead of the October launch.
