Valve Says Steam Machine Reservations Will Be Filled By End of 2026
Valve has announced that all customers currently on the Steam Machine reservation list will be able to purchase the device by the end of 2026. The Steam Machine, a console-PC hybrid, launched approximately one month ago and quickly accumulated an extensive reservation queue despite its premium pricing.
When the Steam Machine first became available, Valve opened a reservation system where interested customers could register their interest. The company then randomly selected accounts to either place on a priority reservation list or a secondary waitlist. While the exact number of total registrations remains unknown, the sheer volume of interest is significant enough that Valve anticipates fulfilling all existing reservations will require the remainder of the calendar year.
The announcement reflects both strong consumer demand for the device and the production or supply constraints that have necessitated a phased rollout. The Steam Machine represents Valve’s effort to expand beyond the Steam platform into hardware, offering a device that bridges traditional PC gaming with console-like functionality.
