PS5 officially has 5 must-play new games releasing in August 2026
PlayStation 5 players have several high-profile releases to anticipate in August 2026, continuing a strong summer for gaming. July established momentum with notable releases including Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Halo: Campaign Evolved, and August sustains this trend with five must-play titles for PS5.
The month is bookended by major franchise releases featuring Marvel and Star Wars properties, offering significant appeal to fans of those universes. Among the highlighted August releases is Beast of Reincarnation, a new action RPG from Game Freak launching on August 4th. The title represents Game Freak’s continued expansion beyond its signature Pokémon franchise, offering a “one-person, one-dog action RPG” experience that combines single-player adventure with companion gameplay mechanics.
