Guide: Every Splatoon Game, Ranked
Nintendo Life has published a comprehensive ranking guide of the Splatoon franchise, one of Nintendo’s most successful and beloved modern series. The franchise launched in 2015 as a bold new intellectual property on the Wii U—a platform that became the company’s worst-selling console since the Virtual Boy—and in a competitive genre that Nintendo had traditionally avoided entering. Despite these seemingly unfavorable circumstances and industry skepticism, Splatoon defied expectations and has grown into one of Nintendo’s most popular and enduring franchises over the past decade. The ranking guide provides players with a comprehensive retrospective assessment of the entire series, from its origins on the Wii U through its successful evolution and expansion across Nintendo’s subsequent gaming platforms. The article highlights how what could have been a fleeting experiment instead became a cornerstone franchise for the gaming company.
