Former Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida is ‘a huge fan’ of Bloodborne, says it’s ‘a complete mystery’ why it was never put on PC

Former Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has publicly expressed his bewilderment at why Bloodborne has never received a PC port, calling it “a complete mystery” during a keynote address at Japan’s CEDEC Industry event.

Yoshida, discussing impactful games from his nearly 40-year career with Sony, revealed himself to be a passionate fan of FromSoftware’s acclaimed 2015 PlayStation exclusive. The action RPG has remained exclusive to PlayStation platforms since its November 2015 expansion, “The Old Hunters,” with no updates or ports to other platforms in over a decade.

The remarks carry particular weight given Yoshida’s former position as head of Sony’s first-party studios division, suggesting that questions about the decision persist even within Sony’s own leadership. The executive also reflected on other FromSoftware titles during his keynote, including his first hands-on experience with Demon’s Souls and Sony’s missed opportunity to publish Dark Souls, underscoring the developer’s significance in gaming history.

Bloodborne’s prolonged absence from PC remains one of gaming’s most enduring mysteries. With FromSoftware’s Dark Souls franchise finding homes across multiple platforms, the continued PlayStation exclusivity of Bloodborne has become a point of ongoing frustration for fans and industry observers alike, fueling continued speculation about business arrangements or internal decisions that have kept the beloved title confined to Sony’s ecosystem.
