Xbox UK and Europe console price hikes revealed - and it’s even worse than we expected
Microsoft has announced significant price increases for Xbox consoles across the UK and Europe, effective in August. The 1TB Xbox Series X disc console is increasing by £170 (from £499.99 to £669.99), representing a 34% price increase. The 512GB Xbox Series S is rising by £129.99 (from £299.99 to £429.99), a 43% increase, while the 1TB Series S model is jumping from £349.99 to £519.99, approximately a 48.5% increase. In Europe, prices are similarly affected, with the Series X reaching €799.99 (up from €599.99) and the Series S hitting €499.99–€599.99 (up from €349.99–€399.99), representing increases of up to €200.
These price adjustments follow earlier US price increases of $100–$150 announced in June. Microsoft attributes the increases to supply chain pressures, specifically citing rising RAM and storage costs driven by increased demand from the AI industry. Described as “unprecedented price bumps” for Xbox hardware, these increases represent some of the largest price adjustments for current-generation consoles, affecting consumer purchasing decisions across both regions.
