Baldur’s Gate 3 gets Xbox Play Anywhere support on Xbox, PC
Baldur’s Gate 3, the award-winning RPG from Larian Studios, has been added to Xbox Play Anywhere, Microsoft’s cross-platform digital licensing program. The addition allows players who own the game digitally on Xbox to play it on PC through the Xbox app at no additional cost. The feature expands access across the Xbox ecosystem, including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and compatible handhelds.
The long-anticipated feature comes three years after the game’s release. Microsoft had accidentally revealed Xbox Play Anywhere support in an Xbox Store listing last fall before making an official announcement. Larian Studios has confirmed that all platforms will receive an update to support cross-play functionality. To celebrate the game’s third anniversary, Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently on sale at 30% off across multiple platforms.
The addition marks a significant milestone for Xbox Play Anywhere, which now includes over 2,000 games. Baldur’s Gate 3’s inclusion is particularly noteworthy as one of gaming’s most acclaimed titles—a five-time Game of the Year winner—joining the program. The cross-platform support enables players to seamlessly continue their adventures across devices within the Xbox ecosystem.
