Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s Surprise Job System Keeps Things Simple with Just Four Jobs Per Character

Square Enix has officially confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation features a customizable job system called FITS—an acronym for Function Integrated Tactical Suitwear. The system was first revealed during the game’s full showcase in June and provides players with significant flexibility in character development.

Each character in the party can adopt up to four different job roles, allowing players to customize Cloud, Tifa, and other characters to suit their preferred combat strategies and playstyles. Square Enix demonstrated the system’s flexibility by showcasing how Tifa can be transformed into a magic-wielding sorceress, illustrating that characters’ roles and abilities can be substantially modified beyond their default configurations.

While the initial announcement provided only limited details about the system’s mechanics, the job system appears designed to add a strategic layer to Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s gameplay by encouraging experimentation with different party compositions and character builds. The FITS system represents a key feature that distinguishes the game’s combat system and gives players agency in how they develop their party throughout their adventure.
