Microsoft Teams just added an app to help you skip meetings
Microsoft Teams launched a new Recap app in July 2026, designed to help reduce meeting fatigue by centralizing meeting-related information. The app aggregates recordings, transcripts, AI-generated summaries, and recaps in a single hub, eliminating the need to navigate between different sections of Teams to find meeting information.
The Recap app focuses on consolidating data that Teams already captures rather than generating entirely new content. It includes content from the last 30 days and features search and browsing functionality to help users quickly locate specific information. This represents one of the most significant additions to Teams during July 2026.
By providing a centralized repository for meeting materials and summaries, Microsoft aims to streamline the meeting experience and help users, particularly those experiencing meeting fatigue, maintain oversight of discussions without attending every meeting. The AI summaries enable users to quickly understand key points from meetings they may have missed or need to reference later.
