Xbox hardware now costs a lot more in the UK and Europe

Microsoft has increased Xbox Series X and Series S console prices globally, with changes taking effect August 1, 2026. In the United States, 512GB models increased by $100, while 1TB models rose by $150, with the 2TB model discontinued entirely.

In the UK, increases ranged from £130 to £170 depending on storage: Xbox Series S 512GB rose from £299.99 to £429.99; Series S 1TB from £349.99 to £519.99; Series X 1TB Digital from £449.99 to £619.99; and Series X 1TB Disc from £499.99 to £669.99.

European pricing saw steeper increases of €150 to €200: Xbox Series S 512GB rose from €349.99 to €499.99; Series S 1TB from €399.99 to €599.99; Series X 1TB Digital from €549.99 to €749.99; and Series X 1TB Disc from €599.99 to €799.99.

These increases represent price hikes of approximately 25–50% depending on region and model. The Xbox Series S 1TB now costs more than the original launch price of the Xbox Series X. Microsoft cited increased storage costs as justification for the adjustments.

The price increases come amid reported Xbox layoffs and occur as competitors maintain more competitive pricing. PlayStation 5 prices are expected to remain stable through at least April 2027, according to Sony’s financial guidance, providing PlayStation a significant pricing advantage.
