Crimson Moon Release Date Revealed
Gothic action RPG Crimson Moon will launch on September 1, 2026, across consoles and PC, developer ProbablyMonsters has confirmed. The game was initially revealed during February’s State of Play presentation.
Crimson Moon is a dark fantasy adventure inspired by gothic horror and heavy metal aesthetics. Players assume the role of a Nephilim—a half-angel, half-human hybrid—navigating the fallen city of Gildenarch while battling demons, undead, vampires, and other hellish creatures. The combat system emphasizes brutal melee encounters combined with supernatural abilities, drawing inspiration from FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed titles Dark Souls and Elden Ring.
A major feature is the game’s two-player online co-op functionality, available for every hunt. Developers have implemented dynamic scaling so that encounters adjust in difficulty based on whether one or two players are engaged, ensuring consistent challenge levels. Co-op players share a communal life pool, allowing them to revive one another during combat.
PlayStation has included exclusive rewards for players purchasing the game on its platform, and a deluxe edition has been announced with additional content. A gameplay trailer shown during Summer Game Fest provided visual confirmation of the game’s blend of solo and cooperative gameplay, showcasing the atmospheric world design and combat encounters that define the title’s dark fantasy setting.
