This Year’s EA Sports FC Is Definitely Different, and I’m Eager to See How It’s Received
EA Sports has announced significant changes for FC 27, the latest iteration of its football simulation franchise, launching on September 25th. Following preview presentations held by EA Sports, the company revealed that this year’s version represents one of the most substantial departures from the established formula since the introduction of Ultimate Team.
The most notable addition is The Grounds, an entirely new social sandbox mode designed to reshape how players interact with the game. This feature will be exclusive to next-generation console versions, restricting availability to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Grounds represents a significant shift in the franchise’s approach to social gaming and community engagement.
Beyond the new sandbox mode, FC 27 also introduces enhanced gameplay mechanics, including advanced defensive AI systems and improved off-the-ball player runs that aim to create more intelligent and realistic match experiences.
