Pokémon Go’s “Summer Marathon: Arctic Embers” event runs from August 4 through August 10, bringing a seasonal mix of fire-type and ice-type Pokémon to the mobile game. The limited-time event marks the debut of shiny Snom, a new variant available through the event’s tiered Go Pass system or by hatching 5km eggs.
The event features a Go Pass with 30 standard ranks plus 30 additional bonus ranks. Players progress through the pass via standard gameplay activities including winning raids, hatching eggs, and catching Pokémon. Two daily tasks also support progression: spinning 10 PokéStops or gyms and exploring 2 kilometers. The event includes Timed Research tasks, themed Pokémon spawns, and special egg hatches tied to the fire and ice theme. The Go Pass follows Pokémon Go’s typical seasonal event monetization model, offering cosmetic and gameplay rewards for progression through ranked tiers.
