Riftbound Director Says TCG Will Eventually Include All League Of Legends Champions
Riftbound, Riot Games’ League of Legends trading card game, has emerged as one of the most popular TCGs since its English launch late last year. The game maintained a major presence at Gen Con with two large exhibition booths, where attendees could learn gameplay, meet content creators, and purchase exclusive merchandise.
During the event, Riftbound game director Dave Guskin discussed the game’s future direction and the challenge of adapting League of Legends’ expansive character roster. With over 170 playable champions in the source material, Guskin expressed enthusiasm rather than concern about the undertaking. He indicated that drawing from such a large pool of established characters represents an exciting creative opportunity for the development team.
The comments suggest Riftbound plans to eventually incorporate League of Legends’ entire champion roster into the TCG, establishing a long-term content roadmap that leverages the MOBA’s extensive character library.
