Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 livestream shut down for being too sexy
A livestream from Larian Studios senior communications developer Aoife Wilson was removed from YouTube and TikTok after she streamed a sexually explicit scene involving the character Harleep, an incubus consort in the House of Hope area of Baldur’s Gate 3.
While streaming a heavily modded Dark Urge playthrough, Wilson seduced the character Harleep, which triggered an in-game sex scene. During the broadcast, someone attempted to cover the sexual content with a golden D20 dice prop, but the effort was unsuccessful. The platforms removed the stream based on their content policies regarding sexual material.
The incident follows a previous case where a Baldur’s Gate 3 player lost their Honour Mode run after their character died while pursuing an intimate encounter with the same character. This latest removal by YouTube and TikTok highlights the ongoing tension between game content featuring mature themes and platform moderation policies. Baldur’s Gate 3 is rated M for Mature, and the game allows players to engage in various intimate scenes with characters, but such content can still violate streaming platform guidelines when broadcast live.
