Beaten Path Revealed for PC and Consoles
Beaten Path, a new tactical RPG from solo developer Jarett Gross, has been officially announced for PC and consoles. The game draws inspiration from classic tactical RPGs including Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics, setting its action in a world of ancient machines and fallen gods. The ambitious project features 25 fully voice-acted characters that bring depth to its narrative.
After nearly five years of development, Beaten Path has already demonstrated strong community support. The game’s Kickstarter campaign achieved full funding in just six days, reflecting enthusiasm for Gross’s vision. The developer explained his core motivation: “I wanted to make the kind of tactical RPG I love playing, with meaningful strategy, lots of room for customisation, and a world players can spend time in beyond the battles.”
According to Gross, the project has expanded significantly beyond its original scope during development. The indie title emphasizes both strategic gameplay and immersive world-building, with extensive character development and customization options positioned as central to the design philosophy.
