Corsair Acquires Racing and Flight Sim Company Trak Racer
Corsair has acquired Trak Racer, a racing and flight simulation hardware manufacturer, significantly expanding its gaming peripherals ecosystem. Under its Fanatec brand, Corsair develops electronic components that define modern sim racing—wheelbases, steering wheels, pedals, and shifters. Trak Racer manufactures the physical infrastructure that complements these electronics, including aluminum and tubular cockpits, racing seats, mounting systems for displays and peripherals, and motion and haptic systems.
The acquisition brings together two complementary product lines to create a vertically integrated, complete sim racing platform. By combining Fanatec’s established electronics expertise with Trak Racer’s cockpit and structural systems, the combined company aims to offer customers a comprehensive, ready-to-use sim racing setup. Corsair emphasized that sim racing is one of the fastest-growing gaming categories, positioning this acquisition as a strategic response to market demand. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
