EA has fixed a niche Battlefield 6 issue where some Nvidia GPUs were crashing while changing attachments or ‘playing on maps with large bodies of water’

EA has resolved a persistent technical issue that affected Battlefield 6 players using Nvidia graphics cards. The problematic crashes occurred in specific scenarios: when changing attachments on the SOR-300SC carbine, accessing custom server search functionality, or playing on maps featuring large bodies of water. The crashes were linked to a recent Nvidia driver update that inadvertently caused compatibility issues with the game.

The fix has been deployed through game update 1.4.1.5, which EA describes as a “quality-of-life update focused on improving reliability, presentation, and moment-to-moment gameplay.” This targeted patch addresses not only the Nvidia-specific crashes but represents a broader effort to enhance the overall stability of Battlefield 6. The issue had persisted for some time, affecting a notable segment of the player base who rely on Nvidia hardware.

The resolution demonstrates how driver updates from hardware manufacturers can occasionally introduce unexpected compatibility problems with games, highlighting the importance of coordination between developers and GPU manufacturers. With this fix in place, affected players should now experience stable performance across all map types and gameplay scenarios.
