The guy in charge of EA Sports is now in charge of EA everything
Electronic Arts has completed its acquisition by Saudi Arabia, with CEO Andrew Wilson announcing significant leadership changes. Former EA Sports president Cam Weber has been promoted to president and chief studios officer, giving him oversight of all of EA’s game development studios. David Tinson, previously serving as chief experiences officer (the top marketing and communications role), has been appointed president and chief operating officer.
The promotions were announced through an internal employee message intended to reassure staff about the company’s direction following the acquisition. Wilson’s message reflected on EA’s long history and positioned the organization as entering “one of the most exciting” periods, though according to reporting, the announcement largely consisted of generic statements rather than substantive details about strategic direction or implications of the Saudi ownership transition.
