Xbox Console Updates Adding New Capture and Achievement Features
Xbox has announced a new set of console features that will begin rolling out to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring before becoming available to all Xbox Series X|S users over the coming weeks.
The marquee feature is the long-requested ability to include party chat audio in gameplay captures. This allows players to preserve not just their gameplay footage but also the reactions and conversations of their gaming group. Privacy controls are built in, with individual party members able to choose whether their audio can be captured, requiring manual opt-in before any chat is recorded.
Beyond party chat, Xbox is introducing expanded achievement tracking options to help players monitor their progress more comprehensively. The feature set also includes improved controls over cloud save data, giving users greater autonomy over how their game saves are managed and backed up to the cloud. Additionally, wishlist functionality is receiving enhancements, though specific details on these improvements are limited in the available information.
Xbox boss Asha Sharma noted that the party chat feature in particular has been a long-standing request from the Xbox community.
