The Call of Duty: Black Ops 1&2 PS4 and PS5 ports sold more than 11 million copies in under a month

According to sales estimates from Alinea Analytics, the two games combined sold 11.2 million units across both PlayStation platforms in under a month following their mid-July release.
Black Ops 2 proved significantly more popular than its predecessor, accounting for 8.2 million of the total sales, while Black Ops 1 sold 3 million copies. The franchise’s enduring appeal on PlayStation appears undiminished, with Black Ops 2 generating notably more discussion among players on Reddit and across social media platforms.
The distribution between console generations heavily favored the newer hardware, with approximately 93 percent of Black Ops 2’s sales occurring on PlayStation 5. This striking preference for current-generation consoles underscores strong player interest in experiencing these classic titles on the latest PlayStation hardware.
