New Kingdom Come trademark filings mention ‘online’ virtual worlds—but we shouldn’t assume Warhorse is making a multiplayer game just yet

Warhorse Studios has filed European trademarks for Kingdom Come Salvation, widely expected to be the official title for the third Kingdom Come game the studio announced in May. The trademark filings contain language mentioning “services for matching users with computer games” and references to “online” virtual worlds, sparking immediate speculation that the next Kingdom Come installment might feature multiplayer or live-service elements.

However, a videogame IP attorney has cautioned against drawing firm conclusions from these filings alone, noting they are “far from a promise that the next Kingdom Come videogame will feature multiplayer.” Trademark filings commonly include expansive language covering various potential features and services as protective measures, and their inclusion does not necessarily indicate those features will materialize in the final product.

Additional Kingdom Come Salvation trademark filings have recently surfaced, continuing to fuel community discussion about Warhorse Studios’ direction for the medieval RPG series. The filings provide early hints about the studio’s thinking, though concrete details about gameplay features, multiplayer status, release timeline, and platform availability remain under wraps.
