Unity sells Supersonic publishing business to Tripledot for $40M
Unity has divested its mobile game publishing business Supersonic to Tripledot Studios for $40 million in an all-cash deal that closed on August 4. The sale represents Unity’s continued effort to streamline its operations and focus on developing its Vector AI advertising platform for games.
Supersonic had become part of Unity’s portfolio through the company’s $4.4 billion all-stock merger with ironSource in 2022. The sale also coincides with Unity’s decision to sunset the ironSource Ads Network, further consolidating its business toward AI-driven advertising solutions.
For Tripledot Studios, the acquisition represents significant strategic expansion in mobile publishing. The company gains access to Supersonic’s experienced product team, advanced SDKs, and user acquisition automation technology, while broadening its exposure to hybrid-casual games—a key market segment. Supersonic will continue operating as a standalone division within the Tripledot Group under its existing management, maintaining headquarters in Tel Aviv.
This marks Tripledot’s second major publishing acquisition in just over a year, following its purchase of multiple AppLovin-owned studios in 2025. The acquisition signals Tripledot’s ambitions to scale its presence in mobile publishing while positioning itself for what industry executives describe as the “age of AI in gaming.”
