HandyGames Rebrands as THQ Nordic Mobile
HandyGames has rebranded as THQ Nordic Mobile, a strategic reorganization announced on August 7 that clarifies the company’s publishing operations. Under the new structure, THQ Nordic Mobile will focus exclusively on bringing established PC and console titles to mobile audiences on iOS and Android, while HandyGames Studios continues developing original games independently.
The rebrand positions THQ Nordic Mobile to accelerate its high-end adaptation strategy, building on recent successes including mobile ports of Wreckfest and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. By separating the publishing and development operations, the company aims to streamline workflows and increase its capacity to deliver polished mobile versions of franchises already proven on larger platforms.
The announcement arrived alongside THQ Nordic’s video showcase on August 7, which previewed upcoming games across the publisher’s portfolio. The move represents THQ Nordic’s broader commitment to the mobile gaming market, leveraging its back-catalog of established IP while maintaining distinct operations for original creative development.
