Nintendo Warns Against Museum Ticket Resales And Transfers

Nintendo has issued a formal warning to consumers against purchasing or transferring tickets to its Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan through unauthorized third-party resellers. The company states that tickets obtained outside of official Nintendo channels are invalid and will not grant entry to the museum.

The warning comes after Nintendo identified multiple instances of customers unable to access the museum after purchasing tickets through unauthorized vendors. Nintendo emphasizes that all legitimate tickets must be purchased directly through its official channels. The company will cancel any tickets purchased through unauthorized means without prior notice and will not provide refunds for invalidated tickets.

Beyond denied entry, Nintendo indicates that individuals who purchase tickets through unauthorized channels may face restrictions on their eligibility to purchase museum tickets in the future. This enforcement approach aims to protect both consumers from fraudulent sellers and Nintendo’s control over museum access and revenue.

The Nintendo Museum opened earlier this year in Kyoto as a significant destination for Nintendo fans seeking to experience the company’s gaming history. The ticket resale issue reflects problems common to popular attractions worldwide, prompting Nintendo’s formal statement to discourage secondary market trading.
