Co-op climber Peak finally reaches the summit, with its last major update bringing two foreboding new biomes next week

Co-op mountaineering game Peak is concluding its year-long post-launch content cycle with one final update. Titled “Final Ascent,” the update arrives August 11th and marks the end of active development support from creators Aggro Crab and Landfall.

The update introduces two new biomes: Gloom and The Citadel. Based on available descriptions, these environments present a foreboding medieval dungeon tower and an accompanying eerie purple hellscape leading toward it. The biomes are designed as a concluding challenge within Peak’s progression system of rugged landscapes and serve to complete the narrative arc established at the game’s launch, which centered on rescuing a scout character.

This final content drop represents the culmination of over a year of consistent post-release additions to the cooperative climbing adventure. The announcement signals that Peak will transition from active development to its completed state following the August 11th release, ending the extended post-launch support window.
